It’s time to talk about what I loved in activewear this month and what’s next on my wish list!

Favorite Running Outfit
I wasn’t too excited about any of my running outfits this month. With the exception of the Lululemon Toasty Tech Tights I bought last fall, I haven’t bought any new winter clothes this season. Wearing the same pieces over and over for multiple seasons gets pretty old. Because I wear so many neutrals, I’ll pick this outfit because I like the color combination. All of these pieces are one or two seasons old so are no longer available: Athleta half-zip and Lululemon Heathered Cadet Blue Swiftly Long Sleeve, Black Tech Speed Tights and Ultra Violet Run with Me Toque.
Favorite New Running Piece
Nothing new for running this month. *Crying.*
Running Gear Workhorse
I wore a Lululemon Swiftly Long Sleeve on pretty much every single run this month. When the temps were above freezing, I wore a Swiftly and a windproof jacket. I’ve talked before about how I think I’m overdressing, and a Swiftly and jacket is pretty much ideal for me to stay warm and not get overheated. In freezing temps, I usually wore a Swiftly under a heavier weight running top, like Lululemon’s rulu tops. On single-digit days, I added a jacket. I have five Swiftlys and got most of them on sale. I had a very pretty Heathered Fuel Green that I bought on sale last year and never wore. I’d added it to pile of clothes I’m planning to sell. But one day I was completely out of Swiftlys so took the tags off the Fuel Green. Oh my goodness! It is the most soft, most cushiony Swiftly I have! I’m so glad I kept it! Here I’m wearing it under my Silver Fox Miss Misty Jacket. Tip: Swiftlys are frequently marked down, like this one. However, the markdown on the website isn’t too great. You can find much better prices when they’re marked down in the stores.
Indoors Workout Favorite Outfit
This month I was longing for spring so wore more summer and spring colors. I love the fun combo of Lululemon Pink Lemonade Tracker Shorts and Regal Plum Energy Bra, with my black Splits59 Devon Tank (my review) to ground the outfit.
Favorite Way to Wear Activewear Out
When I bought the Beyond Yoga Shimmer Leggings (my review) last year, I wasn’t sure I’d get a lot of wear out of them. I’m so happy I bought them because I’ve worn them for just about every special occasion this winter–Turkey Trot 5K, Christmas dinner, and New Year’s Eve. The shimmer has stayed put through washings, and they are incredibly cozy and comfy. This month I wore them to my friend’s 9th annual Bad Sweater Party to dress up my thrift store sweater.
Favorite Dog-Walking Outfit
I loved the basic black-and-white look of my Alala black Shadow Dolman Hoodie (my review) paired with my Lululemon Parallel Stripe Wunder Under Pants. Because the hoodie is lightweight, I wore a Swiftly Long Sleeve underneath and was pretty cozy.
I scored a top from Splits59 that I’ve been wanting for a while when it was featured on HauteLook for just $36. HauteLook called it a Performance Layering Tee, but I’m pretty sure that’s not the official name for it, and I can’t find it available anywhere. It’s essentially a 3/4-sleeve version of the Devon and Alana Tanks (reviews here and here) in a pretty green Everest color. Like the tanks, the fabric is silky soft and flowy. I love this top! I’ve gotten great deals from HauteLook. If you’re not currently signed up and want to check it out, I’d appreciate if you use my referral link.
I also bought a few things from Athleta. The first two were on sale. I really like the Chi Tanks for running, and I picked up one in Sour Apple, a lime green color that I’ve been on the hunt for. It’s still just $7.99.
I also got the New Balance 811 shoe in my favorite colors of grey and purple on sale for $56.99. It’s funny that these shoes are described as being ultra cushiony. I guess I must be used to my super-comfy Asics running shoes, because these New Balance shoes don’t feel very cushiony to me. But since I won’t be wearing them to run and they complement so much of my wardrobe, I’m keeping them. They’re lightweight and will be good for casual walks.
Because I had so many Athleta rewards saved up, I spent under $15 for both of those. I also used my rewards toward two new items that I just ordered and haven’t gotten yet. I got the High Rise Fadeout Chaturanga Tights that I mentioned last month. After some debate, I decided to get the black instead of purple.
I also got the new mesh version of the Chi Tank. This came out last year, and I waited too long for a sale and missed it in the color I wanted. I love the grey and magenta colors, and the mesh will be great for hot days.
For those two items I spent $21 since I used rewards. And I still have about $100 in rewards to use! I have Banana Republic and Athleta credit cards and use them for everything, which is how I rack up so many rewards.
My last purchase is the one I’m most excited about! My Albion Go Long Crew tops (shown in the photo below; my review) have become some of my favorite tops in my wardrobe. The fabric is cushiony soft, and the fit is drapey and flattering. I’ve worn them nearly nonstop since I got them on vacation in Salt Lake City last September at Albion’s store. I’ve really wanted to try more from Albion but missed their holiday sale and have been waiting for another sale. When I recently checked, a few things I wanted were completely sold out or no longer available in my size. And then I read something about the company that made me really want to support them. So I just placed an order and can’t wait to try everything. I’m going to surprise you with what I got when I post my review, and I’ll also share the info about the company that I recently learned.
White Running Shorts?
I’ve said that I love Lulu’s Tracker Shorts. I have black shorts in the 2-way stretch and other colors in the 4-way stretch. I prefer the 2-way stretch because the fabric is a bit stiffer and stays put with less chance for riding up, so I like them more for running. Lulu recently released a white color in the 2-way stretch fabric, and I can’t decide if I should get them. I love wearing white in summer and wore my white running skirt a lot. But there’s something about white shorts that make me pause. What do you think–are white shorts a thumbs up or down?
New Michi Collection
I posted last week about what’s on my wish list, but I’m waiting for a sale…so I’ll probably be waiting until fall!
New Splits59 Collection
I love so much in the new Splits59 spring collection. Maybe because so many styles look like Michi? Here are my favorites.
Koda L/S Layering Tee: White. Grey. Mesh. YES!
Fiona Performance Layering Tank: Love, love, love the “wet black” look that’s in many spring pieces.
Dakota Noir Performance Pullover: Hello, sexy!
