Happy Friday! I’m a little late for my monthly activewear post, but better late than never, right? May was all aboout hot weather, so I was excited to break out my skirts, shorts, and tanks. I have a bunch of warm weather gear I haven’t worn yet, so I was happy to let them play and get sweaty.
Favorite Running Outfit
I love the color combination of mint green, lilac, white, and grey. The floral print on my visor added a little something to all the solid colors. I’ve said before I love Lulu’s Sculpt Tank for hot weather runs. The back is airy, it’s ultra lightweight, and the neck comes up high to protect against sun damage with its UPF 50+ fabric. I wore this for a really hot run, and it was perfect.
Favorite New Running Piece
I said in a previous post that I really liked Lulu’s 5 Mile Longsleeve but didn’t want to pay full price for it. When it went on sale at the beginning of May, I snatched up two! I got it in Chalk, a pale baby-blue/grey, and Raspberry. Of course, the very next day after I got them, the weather turned hot and stayed hot all of May. We had a break in the heat this week so I was able to try it and really like it. It was 51 degrees and kept me covered but not too warm. It’s very lightweight with a slightly fitted shape. There’s cute detailing on the back, reflective strips on the cuffs, and an opening for your watch. There are some still on sale on Lulu’s website. It runs a bit small because it’s a little fitted. I bought a size 8 (my CRB and Sculpt Tank size is 6).
Running Gear Workhorse
I said this would be the summer of shorts, and May kicked that off. I wore my Tracker Shorts on many hot and humid runs. Last year I started wearing shorts for the first time ever because I’ve always been uncomfortable in shorts. But I still felt a little uncomfortable running in shorts. This year I decided to stop the nonsense. When it’s hot, I want to wear as little as possible on my runs. I’ve loved the Tracker Shorts for running and have worn them for up to 6 miles. They don’t ride up, the waistband is very comfortable, and I never have to adjust them. I usually wear Body Glide to protect from chafing, but last weekend I forgot to put Body Glide on and went on a steamy 4-mile run with no chafing. The only downside is that sometimes the hem rolls up a bit, but it’s not a big deal for me. I’m happy I expanded my Tracker Shorts collection and bought some in patterns and colors I love. I think I’ll be wearing these a lot all summer.
Favorite Indoors Workout Outfit
I don’t wear my Yogasmoga tights and crops a lot because they attract pet hair, and I probably won’t buy another pair for that reason. But the fit and feel on them is really great. I love my violet Tippy Toe Leggings (review) paired with a Lulu Capilano Stripe CRB that I got on sale and a hint of the Pretty Purple All Sport Bra peeking out.
Favorite Pole Dancing Outfit
I’ve only been to two classes, but I was so excited to wear some of my Michi pieces (review) to the first one! Of course the standard attire for pole dancing is booty shorts, but since I’m just wearing regular shorts now it’s going to be a while–if ever–before I evolve to booty shorts!
Favorite Way to Wear Activewear Out
I’ve worn this Fabletics skirt and tank out a lot! I wore the outfit together (review) to a party in the photo below, wore the skirt with a longsleeve black tee to work, and wore the tank with jeans to happy hour.
I bought the two 5 Mile Longsleeve tops from Lulu on sale and a pair of the Align Pants in black (review). I’ve worn the Aligns a bunch of times already and love them so much! I also bought two tanks and shorts from Alo Yoga during their Memorial Day sale that I’ll be reviewing next week (I’ll only be keeping one thing). And I got an outfit from Fabletics (review).
I did buy a dress from Albion Fit and several from Athleta when they went on sale, but I guess they don’t count as activewear. Do you still want to see reviews? If so I’ll get those up too.
Note that Lulu’s If You’re Lucky Longsleeve II top that I previously raved about just went on sale in many sizes. Snag yours now! You won’t regret it!
I haven’t added anything to my wish list. I just haven’t had time to browse and shop! I’m still waiting for sales for some Michi and Glyder pieces, but that’s about all. I was hoping for some really good Memorial Day sales, but there wasn’t too much. In the next few weeks I need to beef up my wish list to prepare for possible 4th of July sales. I like to have my wish list made in advance so that I’m not tempted to buy things on impulse just because there’s a sale.
What are your favorites from this month? What’s on your wish list?
I’m linking up with Nicole at Fitful Focus for the Fit & Fashionable Friday Link Up.
Have a great weekend!
